MARTA SOUL

BIOGRAPHY

Marta Soul (Madrid, 1973) is a visual artist and lives and works in Sheffield (United Kingdom). Her work makes use of iconographic simulation to produce reflections on the interactions of cultural roles, like the aesthetics of identity, archetypes and stereotypes and social behaviours that have become our norms as well as our fantasies.

Her photography career started in 2005, when she founded NOPHOTO, an agency of 13 artistic photographers. Based in Madrid (Spain) and Wuhan (China), the team delivered a solid agenda of projects (including exhibitions) through common enterprises.

Her work is included in international collections: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (Spain), La Caixa Foundation (Spain), the Hubei Museum of Art in Wuhan (China), the ENAIRE Foundation (Spain) and the Getty Museum (USA).
